Panasonic releases “LUMIX Tether for Streaming (Beta)” software program for Windows/Mac
integrating new LIVE VIEW mode for live streaming purpose

Panasonic has announced a handful of software announcements designed to extend and improve the functionality of a variety of Lumix mirrorless cameras, including a Mac version of their tethered.

Panasonic announced the release of “LUMIX Tether for Streaming (Beta)” on June 8, 2020. The beta software program for Windows/Mac is derived from conventional “LUMIX Tether (Ver.1.7)” with an additional display option for the cases where this software is used for live streaming purposes. It may help user convenience in the growing self-streaming opportunities.

As “LUMIX Tether” is a software program originally designed for tethered shooting, GUIs such as a focus area mark as well as control panels are displayed with live view images on the PC monitor during USB tethering. However, these graphic items become a hindrance when the software is used to capture camera view for live streaming. In response to the demands of customers to resolve this issue, LIVE VIEW mode has been added on “LUMIX Tether for Streaming (Beta)”. It enables displaying camera view only, making it easy for the separate streaming software to read it. Users can choose to show or hide these graphic items during USB tethering according to the usage purpose.

This application supports wired or wireless connection of screen display images from a PC to the TH-42PF50 / TH-50PF50 / TH-65PB1. Be sure to uninstall the old version of the software before upgrading to the new version.

  When Windows Aero is disengaged, the launcher is not displayed.

• When using a Windows Vista® or Windows® 7 computer, you must be logged in to an administrator account in order to use the secondary display transmission function.
  Note that this function cannot be used in some operating environments.
• When changing the graphic function with a personal computer having the Switchable Graphics function, stop the live operation.

Operation is not guaranteed for all computers that meet the above conditions.

Downloading and Installing the Software

W_WMme5.5g.exe (19 MB)

1. Click the Download button above and the 'Software Licensing Agreement' window will appear.
   Select [Agree] and the installer will begin to download automatically.
2. Once the installer has been downloaded, double click W_WMme5.5g.exe.
   This will uncompress the installation files and create a folder named WMme5.5g_win.
3. Double click the Setup1 icon in the WMme5.5g_win folder.

Wireless Manager ME 5.5g for Windows (Without Installation)

This application supports wired or wireless connection of screen display images from a PC to the TH-42PF50 / TH-50PF50 / TH-65PB1.
The following describes the procedures for using the application without installing it in a PC.
By copying Wireless Manager ME5.5 to a removable media such as an SD Memory Card, the application can be used by connecting the removable media to a PC, without installing the application. If an older version of Wireless Manager is stored in the removable media, be sure to delete the entire folder containing the program from the media before copying the new version.

   Select [Agree] and the installer will begin to download automatically.

   This will uncompress the installation files and create a folder named WMme5.5g_win_basic.
3. Double-click 'WMStart.exe' to launch Wireless Manager ME5.5g.
   The application can be operated in the same way as if it were installed in a PC.

If the application is stored in removable media, connect the removable media to the PC that will be connected to the projector, making sure that the removable media is recognized by the PC. In some cases, the application will automatically start up when the removable media is connected.

• If Mac OS X v10.4 was upgraded to Mac OS X v10.6, operation is not guaranteed.
• If you are logged in to a 'normal' user account, sound may not be output from the computer.
  If sound is not output from the internal speakers, quit Wireless Manager ME 5.5, and then make sure that [Internal Speakers] is selected in [Output] of [Sound] in [System Preferences]. If it is not selected, manually switch to [Internal Speakers].
• Some functions may not be able to be used on a computer using a wireless WAN.
• When connecting with IEEE 802.11n, connect in infrastructure mode using a wireless LAN adaptor, projector and access point, all of which are compatible with 11n. And some wireless LAN may not allow connection to the projector.
• Note that secondary display transmission is not supported by Mac computers.
• Operation is not guaranteed for all computers that meet the above conditions.
